The Bridge Arts Institute

The Bridge Arts Institute provides an opportunity for Bridge clients to become part of an Arts Community integrated into the art world of NYC. This program serves as a “next step” in an individual’s recovery, beyond the clinical services, by providing this unique and specialized forum within the arts field that many individuals would otherwise not have.

Resources and Connections Available to Enrolled Members

·       Weekly available space for independent art making with available artist

·       Master level art supplies

·       Community resources including art career counseling and networking opportunities

·       Participating in a gallery show or art exhibit

·       Monthly gatherings of all members

Exhibitions

The Bridge Arts Institute organizes several gallery exhibitions a year. Bridge Artists prepare their work for display, write artist statements, and may choose to deliver remarks at the exhibition opening. See our Events page for upcoming shows.

For participating artists, helping to curate the exhibition of their work often enforces the feelings of ownership or mastery that art-making can foster. Artists' remarks at gallery openings often highlight the confidence they find in telling their stories without fear of stigma, as well as the pride of displaying their work to the broader public.
